Canon Marketing Malaysia has expanded its EOS Master Programme for 2026 with the introduction of a new category, EOS Filmmaker, as part of its continued efforts to support Malaysia’s growing community of photography and videography professionals.

The enhanced programme underscores Canon’s strategic focus on hybrid creators and the rising influence of video-driven storytelling across industries, reflecting shifts in today’s creative and digital content landscape.

Building on the success of the EOS Master Programme launched in 2023, Canon said the 2026 edition has been strengthened to meet evolving creative demands, particularly in videography and motion-based narratives. The introduction of EOS Filmmaker signals Canon’s commitment to nurturing professionals involved in cinematic storytelling, commercial video production and digital content creation.

For 2026, the EOS Master Programme comprises a total of 26 industry professionals, including 11 EOS Masters, 12 EOS Mentors and three EOS Filmmakers. The lineup brings together practitioners from diverse specialisations such as astrophotography, commercial and event photography, human interest, photojournalism, portraiture, travel, underwater, wildlife and wedding photography, as well as video production.

Canon said all appointed Masters, Mentors and Filmmakers are recognised for their creative excellence, professional experience and meaningful contributions to Malaysia’s local imaging community.

Throughout the year, EOS Masters and EOS Filmmakers will be actively involved in workshops, talks, training sessions and Canon-led initiatives aimed at developing creative talent. These activities will also provide practical insights into how Canon’s imaging ecosystem supports both still photography and motion storytelling at a professional level.

President and Chief Executive Officer of Canon Marketing Malaysia Masato Yoshiie said the EOS Master Programme reflects the company’s long-term commitment to building a credible and sustainable creative community in the country.

“As creative expression continues to evolve, it is important that we evolve alongside our creators. The introduction of EOS Filmmaker enables us to better support storytellers working across photography and videography while empowering them to push creative boundaries,” he said.

Meanwhile, Head of Image Communication Business Division Edward Chang said videography has become an essential component of modern visual storytelling, with creators increasingly adopting multi-format workflows.

The EOS Master Programme is guided by Canon’s Kyosei philosophy, which emphasises collaboration and working together for the common good, as the company continues to foster a future-ready creative ecosystem in Malaysia.
