As the world gradually lifts its Covid-19 measures and restrictions, NEC Asia Pacific (NEC APAC), the regional headquarters for NEC Corporation in Southeast Asia, today launched its suite of comprehensive thermal screening solutions in Malaysia and Singapore.

NEC’s thermal screening solutions comprising of variants like Thermal, Thermal Sign, Thermal FR and Thermal FR Plus, are suitable for deployment in public, commercial and restricted areas.

Through reducing person-to-person contact in manual temperature screenings, these solutions provide a streamlined process for a smooth and faster entry to premises.

NEC’s ThermaSign, a product under the Thermal Sign option, is a simple and portable way of screening that combines a thermal camera with NEC’s state-of-the-art digital signage to allow users the flexibility of showing their own content while checking visitors’ temperatures.

For locations such as office buildings where identification of employees is required, NEC is providing the Thermal FR option that integrates NEC’s world leading facial recognition technology and temperature screening.

Koichiro Koide, President and CEO, NEC APAC, said, NEC’s thermal screening solutions combine the best of NEC; best-in-class displays and signages and facial recognition.

“This combination presents a compelling case for organisations gearing up to reopen in the coming months.

“As the world gradually regains some normalcy, we will continue to push for technological innovations in all areas, and introduce new solutions to support businesses in their recovery from Covid-19,” he said in a statement.

NEC’s thermal screening solutions are available for Malaysia and Singapore from today. Availabilities in other parts of Southeast Asia will be communicated in due time.
