TYMBA Education, the Global Professional Accountancy Centre of Excellence — in collaboration with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) — will be the exclusive provider of the Certificate of Professional in Financial Mastery, a prestigious certification that empowers students with essential financial expertise. The programme, set to launch on May 25th, is tailored to non-accounting students looking for diversified educational opportunities and professional development pathways.

Notably, the job market is becoming increasingly competitive and dynamic, with the Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM) reporting that there were a total number of 8.94 million job openings in the fourth quarter of 2023 alone. In line with this, Randstad’s 2023 Employer Brand Research survey shows 85% of respondents saying that upskilling and reskilling are essential to them — through the Certificate, TYMBA Education aims to provide that path for those interested in pivoting into accounting.

“The Certificate is designed to offer a strong foundation in financial management and accounting, alongside the opportunity for students to enhance their employability and advance their careers,” says Airil Razali, Chief Executive Officer of TYMBA Education Group. “Upon completion, participants will be granted the official title of Certified Professional in Financial Mastery (CPiFM), recognising their expertise in navigating financial complexities for organisational success.”

The 6-month training programme will adopt a hybrid approach, with 75% of the course delivered online for flexibility and accessibility, and 25% conducted in-person at TYMBA Education’s state-of-the-art campus. Additionally, the course will be split into three components, consisting of two guided learning courses — FA1 and MA1 — as well as a two-day case study module workshop in Professional Financial Mastery.

“We are thrilled to be collaborating with TYMBA Education on the Certificate of Professional in Financial Mastery,” says Ang Wen How, Education Relationships Lead of ACCA Maritime Southeast Asia. “We understand the growing need for Malaysians to improve their financial education, and we’re also working to close the accounting industry skills gap. Through the Certificate, with our support, participants can be rest assured that they are receiving accounting education that follows globally recognised qualifications and standards.”

Students can expect to learn more about application accounting principles, corporate finance, and financial decision-making, among other crucial accounting concepts. Furthermore, the support of the Human Resources Development Corporation (HRDC) emphasises TYMBA Education’s alignment with national initiatives for skills development and workforce enhancement — and as a bonus, means that the Certificate is HRDC Claimable.

This programme will be promoted in conjunction with the GRADUAN Aspire Career Fair 2024 scheduled on 25 & 26 May 2024. Interested candidates can visit TYMBA’s booth to get more information.

At the heart of it all, it’s clear that there’s a pressing need for upskilling and reskilling in the Malaysian workforce in addition to comprehensive financial education, and TYMBA Education’s programme stands as a beacon of hope in this regard. Through its innovative, accessible and impactful solutions, TYMBA Education’s goal is to change the way people engage with financial literacy and accounting as a field.
