Sunway Group has secured 26th place in Fortune’s 100 Best Companies to Work For Southeast Asia 2026, emerging as the only Malaysian-headquartered organisation featured in the regional ranking.

The recognition places the group among 100 outstanding employers across Southeast Asia and marks another significant achievement for the Malaysian conglomerate in a year of strong regional performance.

Sunway Group Founder and Chairman, Tan Sri Dr Jeffrey Cheah said the recognition reflected the organisation’s long-standing commitment to prioritising its workforce and upholding values that support sustainable growth.

He said business success was not measured solely by financial performance, but also by the people and principles that shaped an organisation.

The ranking, jointly developed by Fortune and Great Place To Work, was based on confidential feedback from more than 1.32 million employees across 10 Southeast Asian countries.

Participating organisations were assessed on workplace trust, leadership, respect, fairness and employee pride, alongside the consistency of positive workplace experiences across different employee groups.

Sunway’s workforce development strategy is guided by its core values of integrity, humility and excellence, as well as its “Doing Well by Doing Good” philosophy.

Operating across 13 business divisions, the group provides leadership development initiatives and cross-functional career opportunities to help employees expand their professional capabilities.

According to Great Place To Work’s published profile, 93 per cent of surveyed Sunway employees considered the group a great place to work. Sunway also retained its Great Place To Work Certification for a second consecutive year in 2026.

The latest recognition adds to the group’s growing list of international accolades.

Sunway recently advanced 39 positions to rank 151st in the Fortune Southeast Asia 500, while its Executive Deputy Chair Datin Paduka Sarena Cheah was named among Fortune’s Most Powerful Women Asia 2026, which featured 100 business leaders from the Asia-Pacific region.

The group also retained its Gold status in Deloitte’s Malaysia’s Best Managed Companies programme for the fifth consecutive year in 2025.
