ASHWS2025 target to strengthen the safety and health of regional workers

The Pre-Launch Ceremony of the ASEAN Safety and Health Workers Summit 2025 took place with excitement at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center (KLCC) today, bringing together regional leaders, industry experts, and stakeholders in the field of occupational safety and health.

In his welcome speech, the Chairman of NIOSH, Chong Chieng Jen emphasized the important role of worker safety and health in driving the resilience of the regional workforce.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Human Resoureces, Steven Sim Chee Keong in his opening speech emphasized the principles of Malaysia Madani, especially the values of Wellbeing and Empowerment, as a guide to ensure an inclusive and safe workplace.

The highlight of the event was the launch of the NIOSH Financial Institution Safety Passport (NISP) program which aims to improve safety standards in the financial sector. The event was also enhanced with a video montage as a launch gimmick and a photo session.

This council is in line with Malaysia’s goal to strengthen occupational safety and health at the regional level.
