Employers can now access free preliminary guidance on employment-related matters through the HR Emergency Hotline introduced by HRXpert to help businesses manage workplace issues more effectively and in compliance with labour laws.
The initiative is aimed particularly at micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) that do not have an in-house human resources (HR) department or require professional guidance in handling employee-related matters.
The hotline covers a range of workplace issues, including disciplinary problems, absenteeism, employee performance, payroll, termination of employment and the procedures employers must observe before taking action against employees.
HRXpert Chief Executive Officer, Dr (HC) Norazlina Abdullah said a lack of understanding of employment procedures and regulations could expose employers to disputes and potential legal action.
She said while employers might be aware of misconduct committed by employees, it was equally important to ensure that any disciplinary action was taken in accordance with the proper procedures to safeguard fairness and transparency.

“Through the HR Emergency Hotline, employers can obtain preliminary guidance before making decisions, helping them minimise the risk of mistakes when handling employee-related issues,” she said.
To strengthen the expertise behind the initiative, HRXpert has appointed former director at the headquarters of the Department of Labour Peninsular Malaysia (JTKSM), Tuan Haji Hussain Ali Meah, as its principal adviser.
His experience in employment law and industrial relations is expected to enhance the quality of guidance provided to employers in managing workplace matters.
In addition to free preliminary guidance, HRXpert also offers professional consultancy services for cases requiring further assessment, including document reviews, preparation of formal letters and disciplinary proceedings.
Any charges for these services will be communicated in advance, depending on the requirements and scope of the case.
Norazlina said effective HR management was not merely about ensuring employees complied with workplace rules, but also about protecting business interests and fostering a harmonious working environment.
However, the hotline serves as an initial guidance channel and does not replace specific legal advice. Responses are also subject to HRXpert’s operating hours.
