Jobstreet by SEEK expands fair beyond Klang Valley to connect talent with employers nationwide.

The Malaysia Career & Training Fair (MCTF) 2025, co-organised by Jobstreet by SEEK and AIC Exhibitions, officially opened at Mid Valley Exhibition Centre, drawing 30,000 jobseekers and up to 100 top employers offering 15,000 career opportunities.

Amid a resilient labour market — with 16.85 million people employed and unemployment steady at 3.0% — demand is shifting toward digital skills, sustainability expertise and regionally distributed roles. MCTF 2025 addressed this by connecting Malaysians to the right opportunities, regardless of background or location.

Expanding access nationwide

For the first time, Jobstreet by SEEK and MCTF are extending the fair beyond Kuala Lumpur, with editions in Johor Bahru and Penang to follow. This expansion underscores Jobstreet’s commitment to reach every Malaysian and bridge geographic gaps in hiring, ensuring opportunities are not limited to major cities.

By decentralising access, the fair brings employers closer to talent in smaller towns and regional centres, reducing barriers and creating more equitable pathways to employment.

Career pathways for all jobseekers

As Malaysia’s largest job platform, Jobstreet by SEEK showcased its extensive listings and support services at MCTF. Employers including AEON, Bank Negara Malaysia, CIMB, KLK, Perodua, Agoda, Coach, Public Bank and Setia recruited for roles spanning corporate, technical, operational and service functions.

The fair catered to a wide spectrum of jobseekers — from fresh graduates and mid-career professionals to career switchers and those seeking flexible/remote roles. Visitors benefited from:

  • Free resume reviews and polishing sessions
  • Career coaching clinics and live employer Q&As
  • Interactive demonstrations of Jobstreet by SEEK’s reskilling and fair-hiring tools
  • On-the-spot interviews and application opportunities, with thousands of live applications submitted.

Matching Malaysia’s talent with evolving demand

Jobstreet by SEEK’s platform data highlights where opportunities are growing. In 2025, top categories include Accounting (12.9%), Manufacturing, Transport & Logistics (11.9%) and Sales (10.1%). These insights reflect Jobstreet’s mission to match candidates with roles that align with their skills, interests and career goals — reinforcing the company’s “right job” proposition.

“MCTF 2025 is about creating access that truly matters. By expanding beyond Klang Valley, we’re making sure jobseekers in every state can connect directly with employers and discover opportunities that fit their skills and ambitions. For us, success is not just about finding a role for every Malaysian, but also about helping Malaysians build sustainable, meaningful careers,” said Nicholas Lam, Managing Director at Jobstreet by SEEK Malaysia.
“MCTF has always been about connecting people to pathways. This year, we’ve worked closely with Jobstreet to bring those pathways closer to communities outside the capital. Employers and candidates alike benefit when opportunity is distributed more evenly across the country,” said Datuk William Ng, Organising Chairman of MCTF, AIC Exhibitions.
