The Ministry of Human Resources (KESUMA) will implement a large-scale training programme titled ‘AI For Educators’, aimed at training nearly 400,000 teachers across the country to better prepare them for the challenges of the artificial intelligence (AI) era.

Its minister, Steven Sim Chee Keong, said the programme is being carried out in collaboration with the Ministry of Education (MOE), with the goal of equipping educators with the knowledge, skills, and ethics related to the use of AI in the learning process.

“This reflects not only KESUMA’s commitment but also the commitment of the Madani Government to ensure that our teachers, as the frontliners are equipped with the most advanced skills to produce Malaysians capable of facing the economic challenges of the 21st century,” he said.

He made these remarks during his speech at the launch of National Training Week (NTW 2025) at Bukit Jalil National Stadium.

According to Steven, this year’s NTW 2025 is being organized on a larger and more comprehensive scale, with over two million participants registered to take part in 71,000 free training courses offered nationwide.

“NTW is being held for the third year this year, on an even greater and more impressive scale. Last year, we reached around 300,000 Malaysian participants in just one week who joined various skills training courses,” he explained.

He added that more than 40 percent of the total courses offered in NTW 2025 are related to the Industry 4.0 sector, in line with current job market demands.
