Malaysia’s premier career fair returns to support digital transformation and future-ready employment.
As Malaysia’s labour market continues its upward trajectory, the 2025 edition of the Malaysia Career & Training Fair (MCTF) returns with a clear mission: to connect Malaysians with high-skill, future-proof jobs that are increasingly defining the national economy. With the unemployment rate projected to decline to pre-pandemic levels of 3.21% by year-end, the country is seeing rapid job growth in areas such as artificial intelligence, digital services and data analytics—making timely, targeted employment initiatives more critical than ever.
Held at the Mid Valley Exhibition Centre and co-organised by AIC Exhibitions Sdn Bhd and Jobstreet by SEEK, this year’s MCTF saw the participation of 70 leading companies and more than 350 available job opportunities. With a sharpened focus on digital readiness, sustainability and fair employment practices, the fair welcomed jobseekers from across the country, ranging from fresh graduates to mid-career professionals looking to pivot or upskill.

Compared to the previous year, where over 120 companies exhibited, MCTF 2025 took a more curated approach by featuring companies aligned with high-growth, high-demand sectors. Employers were selected based on their digital maturity, commitment to sustainability and readiness to offer upskilling pathways. This shift reflects national workforce development trends and aligns with the government’s broader vision of digital transformation and inclusive growth under the MADANI Economic Narrative.
In line with the fair’s focus on future-proof careers and workforce agility, Jobstreet by SEEK’s Hiring, Compensation & Benefits 2025 report revealed that part-time, contractual and temporary roles surged by 8 to 10 percentage points in 2024 compared to the previous year. This shift indicates a growing preference among employers—especially SMEs—for more flexible hiring models that can better respond to evolving business needs. MCTF 2025’s curated selection of digitally mature and sustainability-focused employers reflects this new reality, offering jobseekers a broader array of work formats to suit different career paths and life stages.

MCTF 2025 also reaffirms its commitment to environmental sustainability. Following in the footsteps of last year’s paperless format, organisers further reduced the event’s footprint by replacing all printed marketing materials with digital equivalents. Exhibiting companies were encouraged to showcase their own ESG commitments, helping jobseekers make more informed decisions about the values behind the organisations they hope to join.
“Great jobs and great companies go hand in hand with strong values,” said Datuk William Ng, Organising Chairman of MCTF. “We believe the future of work lies not only in digital innovation but also in the strength of purpose-led hiring. This is why MCTF continues to lead the way in both career development and sustainable event practices.”
“MCTF has always been a vital bridge between Malaysian jobseekers and meaningful work opportunities,” said Nicholas Lam, Managing Director of Jobstreet by SEEK Malaysia. “This year, we’re doubling down on our commitment to future-ready skills, digital enablement and fair hiring practices. Whether you’re a recent graduate or a professional in transition, MCTF is where you’ll find an opportunity that aligns with your goals and the country’s direction.”
With over 1.94 million jobseekers and exhibitors connected since its inception, MCTF continues to be a cornerstone of Malaysia’s employment landscape. As the nation accelerates its shift towards a knowledge-based and digitally enabled economy, events like MCTF 2025 will play an even greater role in shaping the talent pipeline of the future.
