SEEK’s verified credential passport, SEEK Pass, is now available on the Jobstreet and Jobsdb platforms in Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand. Jobseekers can stand out further by securely pre-verifying their credentials, enabling employers to confidently shortlist candidates and accelerate recruitment on a trusted platform.

SEEK, the parent company of Jobstreet by SEEK, announced the roll-out of SEEK Pass, its verified credential passport, to six markets in Asia, including Malaysia. SEEK Pass is now available to help talent verify their work credentials on Jobstreet and Jobsdb, the region’s leading employment platforms by SEEK, allowing them to stand out in an increasingly competitive job market.

In Malaysia, the average number of applications per job ad on Jobstreet has increased by 35% year-over-year from 2023 to 2024. This makes it more challenging for job seekers to be noticed easily and for employers to sift through the high volume of applications to find the right candidate.

“As Malaysia’s leading employment marketplace, everything we do is in pursuit of matching the right people with the right job, and we believe SEEK Pass can help us do that even more efficiently. Not only can we help boost job seekers’ visibility in a crowded market, but we can also help employers shortlist candidates more confidently as they can make more informed hiring decisions with trusted information,” said Nicholas Lam, Managing Director of Jobstreet by SEEK in Malaysia

The accelerated expansion of SEEK Pass to Asia was made possible by the integration of SEEK, Jobstreet and Jobsdb last year, which unlocked faster product innovation and deployment with all three marketplaces now operating on a unified platform.

Through its partnership with Accredify, SEEK Pass further extends its capabilities by enabling the verification of educational qualifications from participating universities, with the first being Sunway University. This added feature enhances both the hiring process and job opportunities, allowing fresh graduates to stand out in a competitive market while enabling employers to streamline hiring through trusted, pre-verified information.

Xavier Russo, General Manager of SEEK Pass, says the Asia launch builds on the product’s success in Australia and New Zealand, where 40% of applications on SEEK now include verified credentials and are 10% more likely to be shortlisted than unverified applications. “We’re excited about helping millions of job seekers across Asia who use Jobstreet and Jobsdb to stand out with verified credentials when they look for their next role.”

Today, SEEK Pass offers different verification capabilities across SEEK’s Asian markets. While current workplace verification is available across all markets, Malaysia stands out with additional features to verify identity and educational qualifications from participating universities. This range of verified credentials will expand over time, similar to Australia and New Zealand where more than 20 unique verifiable credentials are now available.

“As we work towards expanding the range of verified credentials in Asia, we aim to partner with local government authorities and agencies to create a more efficient and effective ecosystem that better serves both job seekers and employers in the region,” Xavier added.
