Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the Automotive Hi-Tech Valley (AHTV) project would not only transform the town of Tanjung Malim into a regional motoring hub, but also to be a centre for climate-based technologies.
Not only that, hundreds of thousands of jobs and foregn investment are expected to boost the image of the town and there are also plans to set up a university research centre.
The emphasis is expected to be on Electric Vehicles (EVs), by incorporating Artificial Intelligence (AI) and other of the latest cutting edge technologies as part of the country’s bid to become carbon-neutral by the year 2050.
Ismail Sabri said the government hopes this project will propel the urban industry and other sectors to reduce greenhouse emissions and that AHTV will also manufacture EVs and components for the Asean market.
He said AHTV could generate 370,000 new jobs when it is being constructed and another 160,000 jobs when it begins operations.
Other developments such as industrial parks and real estate development for commercial purposes will bring the Gross Development Value to RM32 billion by 2030.
